The discreet, east-west oriented geometry in dark gray mimics the bark of teak trees, blending into the landscape to create a perfect camouflage. This simple and lightweight design consists of a single rectangle with an open façade facing the active life of the neighboring farm. The structure is elevated on stilts in response to rainwater runoff, allowing the space to float above the forest floor. This minimizes environmental impact while creating pathways for existing wildlife and airflow.
The home’s straightforward program is organized to support a dynamic rural lifestyle. Entry is through the forest, leading up into a central living space that connects two sleeping areas, one on each end—east and west. Both open onto a wooden terrace that spans the full width of the project, oriented northward and overlooking the goat farm. All the wood used in the project comes from reforestation efforts: trees planted by the clients 40 years ago, now transformed into handcrafted elements made on site. Entre Tecas embodies the vision and ongoing work of a family committed to living simply and in harmony with nature.
La discreta geometría orientada de este a oeste, de color gris oscuro, imita el color de la corteza de los árboles de teca que se mezclan con el paisaje creando un camuflaje perfecto. Es un diseño simple y liviano compuesto por un rectángulo con una fachada abierta hacia la vida activa de la granja aledaña. El volumen se eleva sobre pilotes en respuesta a la escorrentía de la lluvia, lo que permite que el espacio flote sobre el suelo del bosque, minimizando el impacto en su entorno y permitiendo un paso para la vida silvestre existente y movimiento del aire.
El programa sencillo de la casa está organizado para un estilo de vida rural dinámico, ingresando al espacio a través del bosque y subiendo al espacio de estar central, un lugar que sirve como conector entre los dos espacios para dormir, cada uno en el lado opuesto, este y oeste, abriéndose a una terraza de madera que se extiende a todo lo ancho del proyecto, orientada al norte y observando la vida caprina. Toda la madera del proyecto proviene de la reforestación y fue plantada por los clientes hace 40 años, y aprovechada en los detalles hechos a mano en sitio. Entre Tecas explica la visión y el trabajo iniciado hace muchos años por una familia que busca llevar una vida sencilla en armonía con la naturaleza.
